109th Philippine Independence Day Celebration in Kuwait

FPSC joined in commemoration of the 109th Philippine Independence Day held at Kazma Gym, in Adailiya, Kuwait on 8th June 2007. Present were officers and members of FPSC who paraded along with other Filipino organizations. Also in the program was the awarding of winners in the beginners shooting tournament held to honor the occasion. See above photos.

ONGOING SHOOTING COMPETITION

The Sheikh Sabah Al-Salem Al-Hamoud Al-Sabah Shooting Competition has been extended until 24 February 2006. You may still join all the discipline contests until Friday. Prizes and trophies await the winners and runner-ups.

The awarding ceremony has been scheduled for Friday, 3 March 2006 at the NRC Shooting Complex lobby. All FPSC Members, new, old, winners, losers are all enjoined to attend the ceremony. FPSC IDs are ready, so you may also collect yours on same day.

FPSC 2006 MONTHLY COMPETITIONS

The FPSC Executive Board has passed a resolution for the conduct of monthly ompetitions until the end of 2006. Competitions that be held every month will be sponsored and coordinated by FPSC officers, advisers and members assigned on that month.

The sponsored competitions shall have at least one Practical Shooting event. Although the events or course of fire will be chosen by the named sponsor, the final rules will be laid out by FPSC and NRC shooting complex management. The monthly competitions will not do away with FPSC or NRC organized contests, instead they shall strengthen the major contests during the same period.

Trophies, medals and give-aways will be awarded to the winners of the monthly competitions.

As agreed by the FPSC Executive Board, the 2006 monthly sponsors are as follows:

The Filipino Practical Shooting Club (FPSC) Officers and Members had an audience with Philippine Charge de Affairs Ricardo Endaya (Amb.-designate) along with other Filipino organizations in Kuwait on Thursday, 12 January 2006. The topics discussed ranged from OFW situations in Kuwait to Consular and Labor services improvement at the mission. The group ended their meeting with a visit to the distressed OFWs, where the latters needs and ways of helping where discussed.

FPSC Officers Inducted

On Friday, the 9th of December 2005, FPSC Officers led by incoming president Alfred Avila were inducted into office by Labor Attache Paul de Jesus at the Continental Hotel, in Kuwait City. Officers and members of the Filipino Practical Shooting Club attended the occasion. On that same occasion, the Filipino Cultural Club (FCC) and Philippine Bowling Association in Kuwait (PBAK) officers were also inducted by the labor attache.

Song and dance numbers were presented by FCC while brief histories of the organizations were presented by Jhet Tan prior to the oath taking. At the end of the programme food was served, buffet style, and public dancing ensued with music DJ-ed by reknown Gilbert Semillano.

FCC, helmed by their President Vangie Dantes, spearheaded the commmittees in charge of the programme, while PBAK President Francis Roque led the hospitality treatment of the VIPs. Former executive director Marie Palacios Al-Ameri hosted the night's event.

FPSC Constitution Submitted, Induction Set

FPSC has completed the ratification of its constitution and by-laws, as approved by a majority of its founding membership. The same document has been sent to the Philippine Embassy along with other documents for FPSC accreditation.

FPSC awaits for the approval of its accreditation as it prepares for its 1st Induction and Ball at the Continental Hotel, Kuwait City on the 9th of December 2005 along with FCC and PBAK, two other Filipino organizations in the State of Kuwait.

FPSC continues to hold Monday and Friday practical shooting competitions at the National Range Complex. Above photo shows some of the members who have participated in the competition. Incidentally, one of the members, Alexander Ilocto, who died on a road accident going to Iraq was in the photo, taken just a few days prior to his accident.

FPSC was able to collect KD170 as "abuloy" or contribution from its members, for the bereaved family of Mr. Ilocto, and has given the amount to his wife. Several members of FPSC also attended the 9-day prayer vigil for the eternal repose of the soul of the departed member.

FPSC Making Ready for Induction

FPSC Officers and Advisers met on Monday, 21 November 2005 at the NRC Shooting Complex to finalize its constitution and by-laws and make preparations for their oath taking at the Philippine Embassy in Kuwait.

Likewise FPSC is preparing for the public induction of its officers at the Continental Hotel (prior venue was Crowne Plaza) in December 2005. As part of the programme FPSC shall present a snapshot of its founding, organization and objectives.

FPSC would like to also inform all its members that one of their colleagues, Alexander Ilocto, a Filipino working in Iraq/ Kuwait, died in a road accident. FPSC sends its condolences to the bereaved family left behind by Alexander. May his soul rest in peace.

NRC - FPSC Ramadan Shooting Competition 2005

Shown in the photo are some of the winners at the Practical Shooting Ramadan Competition held at NRC Shooting Complex. Awards were distributed on 28 October 2005. NRC and FPSC jointly conducted the shooting competitions ranging from Air pistol to Practical Shooting events. There were separate categories for the youth, women and men.

FPSC Meeting of 7 November

FPSC Officers and Members discussed the planned induction party which will tentatively be held at Crowne Plaza. There was also a discussion on the finalization of its constitution and by-laws.

FPSC officers were asked to commit themselves to the organization for it to succeed. Oath taking was also planned to take place at the end of the month at the Philippine Embassy in Jabriya, Kuwait. Pertinent documents such as list of activities and officers and the final FPSC Constitution and By-laws shall also be submitted to the Philippine Embassy.

FPSC is an IPSC/ PPSA compliant practical shooting club in the State of Kuwait. It exercises the practical shooting sports at NRC Shooting Complex. This blog has been created to keep its members and interested participants in the sports updated on its activities, as well as learning the basics of practical shooting.

Today is the first day of this blog posting. We will soon allow members and surfers to contribute to this blog.

FPSC aims to excel in practical shooting accuracy, power and speed.
